The Best Damn Hour of OSD Ever
Drs. Tom Kislan, Jimmy Deom, and Mike Cymbor
This course, led by Dry Eye experts who oversee a large OSD practice, will take a rapid fire approach to reviewing the latest innovations in ocular surface disease and also incorporating these innovations into private practice. A thorough review of long standing diagnostic and therapeutic options will be discussed along with implementing old and new. As time allows, billing/coding and practice management will be discussed.
Amniotic Membranes, Everything You Need to Know in One Hour

In office and sutureless amniotic membrane AM is emerging as an excellent alternative due to promising clinical outcomes to treat a variety of ocular surface conditions rapidly and effectively. This course will review what is an amniotic membrane, the various types of AMs, clinical applications, patient experience, insertion, and removal
Trending Topics in Glaucoma Management
Drs. Mike Cymbor, Tom Kislan, Jimmy Deom, and Greg Caldwell
This course will cover trending topics in glaucoma management. Each topic will be emphasized with a case presentation. Our expert panel will provide scintillating and relevant commentary on each topic. Topics will include OCTA, SLT vs meds as 1st line, role of hysteresis, how to improve OCT skills, etc.
Greg Caldwell, O.D., F.A.A.O.
Greg Caldwell, O.D., is a 1995 graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. He completed a one-year residency in primary care and ocular disease at The Eye Institute in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (AAO) and a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry (ABO).
He currently works in Duncansville and Johnstown, Pennsylvania as an ocular disease consultant. Dr. Caldwell’s primary focus is the diagnosis and management of anterior and posterior segment ocular disease and he has been a participant in multiple FDA investigations. Dr. Caldwell has lectured extensively throughout the county and over twelve countries internationally. In 2010 he served as President of the Pennsylvania Optometric Association (POA) and served on the AOA Board of Trustees 2013-2016. He is President of the Blair/Clearfield Association for the Blind.
Dr. Mike Cymbor
Dr. Cymbor received his optometric doctorate from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry (SALUS) and completed a residency at the Wilkes-Barre VA Medical Center. He was awarded the “Young Optometrist of the Year” by the American Optometric Association in 2001. He is a fellow in the American Academy of Optometry. He is the co-director of the Glaucoma Institute of State College and a member of the Optometric Glaucoma Society. He is a glaucoma lecturer, researcher and is published in numerous journals and publications. He is an adjunct clinical professor at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry (SALUS) and serves as the director of externship programs. He is a partner at Nittany Eye Associates.
Dr. Thomas Kislan
Dr. Thomas Kislan is the founder and medical director of Hazleton Eye Specialists, Stroudsburg Eye Specialists and The Dry Eye Clinic Of Northeast PA. Dr. Kislan lectures extensively nationally and internationally on ocular surface disease, glaucoma, omega 3 science, practice management and contact lens complications. Dr. Kislan actively participates in clinical research and presents this research worldwide. He is an adjunct professor at Salus University and is also the host of a syndicated TV and internet show titled “Eye Care Today”.
Dr. James Deom
Dr. Deom practices in a multi-location optometric practice where he is Medical Director of Optometric Services in both Hazleton and Tannersville Pa. Dr. Deom went to Wilkes University and then went on to Salus University where he graduated with highest honors and a Master in Public Health focused on Brain Injury and Vision Rehabilitation. Dr. Deom has clinical interests in ocular surface disease, systemic disease management, traumatic brain injury, and scleral lens care. Dr. Deom lives in Drums Pa with his daughter Brynn, son Franklin and wife Jillian who is a Physical Therapist. Dr. Deom is an avid triathlete and marathoner and has completed 5 full distance ironmans and more than 20 marathons.
